It is a fact that the
children of God, who came to Kuwait at different times in the past looking for
means of livelihood, received several blessings from God including provision of
facilities to worship Him in this land. Thus, from almost more than five
decades before, there started a gathering to worship God in Spirit and in
Truth, and the gathering began to grow and flourish by the passing of time.
As the number of members
surpassed the availability of space, smaller groups came into existence in various
parts of the country for the sake of convenience. Meanwhile, many local
congregations have become part of the various established church denominations
in Kerala and commenced their activities in Kuwait under the auspices of those
churches. In fact, many such congregations with the same doctrinal identity and
unity, even though they functioned separately, continued to join hands together
in love and co-operation.
As demanded by growth and
time, these congregations under NECK, having the same doctrinal unity and
purity of faith, came up with the idea in 2016 of having a common forum to
serve the Lord and stay united. As such, a group of 18 Pentecostal churches
came together and established a united forum called: United Pentecostal
Fellowship of Kuwait (UPFK). From the time of its formation, the forum is functioning
very efficiently and as a role model to others.
“Holy Father, keep through
thine own name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.”
As in this prayer, let us thank God Almighty for fostering love, unity and
co-operation among the Pentecostal community in Kuwait. We aspire and pray that
UPFK will remain a beacon of Christian maturity and faithfulness in the days
and years to come.
All glory and Amen.
